Oliver Zipse joined BMW as a trainee after completing his studies in 1991. 28 years later, in 2019, he became Chairman of the Board of Management of the BMW Group and remains so to this day. Born in Heidelberg in 1964, he held many different management positions before reaching the very top: he worked in development, production, and planning. Zipse worked in South Africa and managed the plant in Oxford. In 2015, he joined the Executive Board as Head of Production. As CEO, he leads the company calmly and assertively. Above all, he is highly regarded for his strategy of technological openness. In 2025, he will start what is probably the most important project of his career: the introduction of the “New Class”.
